first snows
dance in the air
bringing quiet to the soul
the painful death of leaves
crunching underfoot is past
now
all is made new

This is beautiful and makes me miss the snow. It’s been a while–a long while since I watched snow fall.
Thanks for sharing, enjoy it before it turns to mush. 🙂

Thanks, D. No mush anytime soon…it’s like 10 degrees out!

This is really good! It makes me want to stick my head in the freezer.

We woke up to a dusting of snow and it was lovely. Just like this poem…

Thanks, Deidra! We’re supposed to get a few inches on Saturday and I am totally looking forward to it. A perfect day to put up our tree and bake Christmas cookies. 😀

We had our first snow today as well. Your poem describes the presence of snow beautifully.
I agree falling snow brings quiet to the soul and when it covers the ground, all is fresh and new.
Keep writing like this. I love it.

I know, I feel very quiet and thoughtful when it snows. I can’t really understand how people hate snow. I mean, it gets nasty when it clogs the streets and turns grey eventually, but when the flakes are falling, I am so happy.

Lovely beginning for winter (even tho its still fall)! I don’t know what it is about snow covering the ground that makes me feel like a painter with a new canvas.

PW, I guess it’s technically fall, but here, it’s winter. Just ask my thermometer! 🙂

Very nice! (Is it intentional that the poem shape is Christmas tree-y?)

Thanks, and no – LOL…or yes (just so I seem very witty)!
