A good news story

Last week in Chicago (where I live), the commute on the Eisenhower Expressway was delayed because of a stray dog…for two days!

Watch the video

A black pit bull was lost and wandering in a heavily constructed area on a major route that goes in and out of the city, wreaking havoc on the commute and providing lots of nail-biting action for the local news. For two mornings in a row, news helicoptors reported the dogs every move. Would he dart into traffic and get hit? Would he stay in the construction zone and be more or less safe? And why on earth could no one catch this dog?

He was actually hit by a car at some point and mildly injured, but kept going. Finally, after two days, he was cornered by police. The cop opened the car door, the dog climbed in, he lay down and fell asleep. He was doggone tired.

The vet said he’s going to be just fine. No one has claimed him, so for now, he belongs to no one; but they had to give him a name. And what would it be?

Eisenhower, of course!

It’s nice to see a happy ending on the news. Glad he’s okay. I’m sure he’ll have no trouble finding a home since he now has the most famous face in Chicago. 🙂

Good story! Similar thing with Polly. She was found running down the highway, too! Fortunately someone picked her up and took her to the humane society. Don’t know if she was abandoned, lost, run away, or what, but I’m glad we got her!

All is well that ends well! I hope they find a home for him.
