Inspired by…lyrics

I heard this song on a commercial and it’s been haunting me, so I looked it up. It’s called “Relentless” by Audrye Sessions. Give it a listen…note: Lala.com will let you listen to the full song one time.

Get off of work, come home, pass out
My life’s become this cancer
Crawling through my skin and after me
I can’t give up, I won’t lay it down
And though it seems relentless,
I can be relentless too

Now you’re better than you think you are
Show these people what you were born to do
‘Cause I believe in you
I’d bet my life on you
Forget the awful words they said
Lost a dream then lost their heads
It’s funny what fear does to you

I can’t seem to escape
My days have become nightmares
And dreams have run away
And I can’t give up, I won’t lay it down
And though it seems relentless,
I can be relentless too

Now you’re better than you think you are
Show these people what you were born to do
‘Cause I believe in you
I’d bet my life on you
Forget the awful words they said
Lost a dream then lost their heads
It’s funny what fear does to you

Oh, ooh
And I bet you thought this noose was…
Yeah I bet you thought it was too tight
Not yet, not yet

Now you’re better than you think you are
Show these people what you were born to do
‘Cause I believe in you
I’d bet my life on you
Forget the awful words they said
Lost a dream then lost their head
It’s funny what fear does to you

Great song, great lyrics — unfortunately I had trouble hearing it because country music is Polly’s favorite (my hound dawg) and she had to sing along with the whole thing.

When my son was in high school and Dr. Drew came on tv, I could have ridden through the living room on a flaming chariot and he and his friends wouldn’t have noticed — Dr. Drew definitely spoke to them with some kind of deep understanding and they really soaked it in.

LOL – cute about Polly. I actually like Dr Drew, I just don’t have VH1 so I can’t watch the show even if I wanted. He’s a pretty cool guy.

This is a beautiful song. I got goosebumps listening to it. No wonder it was haunting you. I’m curious what commercial this could have been in.
