Apple Picking and Such

Lisa apple pickingLast week the hubs took off a few well-deserved days of work and and we had a “staycation.” We went to the city, ate out a lot, strolled an art festival. Basically, what you’d do on a regular vacation, but we didn’t travel anywhere far. It was relaxing and fun to spend so much time with E.

We also did the one the thing we do every fall…go apple picking. We usually visit a huge and well-maintained orchard called “Royal Oak,” since the have a petting zoo and the best cider donuts anywhere. We tried our hardest not to knock the little kids over when feeding the goats and calves at the zoo.

Sounds like fun! We drove way too much on our last vacation and there is definitely something to be said for ‘staycations.’

I’ve finally got a sorta blog up:

It is nice to have you back! Your long weekend sounds like it was wonderful and relaxing. It must be nice to have Autumn. It’s still very much summer here in California. Shorts and tank tops for at least another few weeks.

You know the saying, “an apple a day…?” We’re eating lots of apples. I might try and make a pie. Time went by quickly and I didn’t realize that it’s been a while since I’ve written anything!

Your “staycation” sounds marvelous and what a wonderful way to bring in the fall. I am also happy to see you back online. I was beginning to wonder if E, Lewis and you were all okay. I can breath a selfish sigh of relief now.

So what are you going to do with all of those apples????
