More Than Dance

sytycd-150My absolute favorite show EVER is SYTYCD (So You Think You Can Dance, for those not in the know). Last night, it featured a performance that elevated this show to epic. It was danced by Melissa and Ade and choreographed by Tyce Diorio to one of my favorite heart-wrenching songs, “This Woman’s Work” (sung by Maxwell).

The number depicts a woman who is coping with breast cancer. It’s likely that anyone who has walked alongside someone struggling with cancer would be deeply moved by this performance. As for me, I was reduced to a sobbing mess.

I used to be a dancer, which is part of the reason I love this show so much. I only ever dreamed of dancing in such a way that would move people emotionally, let alone like this. Bravo.

Incredible post! Bravo to you for bringing it to us.

It is amazing how much emotion a song and a dance can embody.

It sure made my troubles suddenly feel small and insignificant.
